I combine logical problem solving, empathy and creative thinking to solve difficult design problems.
My name is Yingxu (pronounced yin-she-yu). But to make it easy, just call me Missy.
Currently, I'm a product designer at Goldman Sachs. I got my Master's in Human-Computer Interaction from Carnegie Mellon University in August 2020. Before that, I was a Special Projects Editor at LinkedIn, working alongside fellow Northwestern Medill alumni.
My past experiences in visual design and motion graphics cultivated my passion for developing and delivering high-fidelity, interactive product prototypes. In addition to that, my mixed background trained me for all stages of the UX design process. I enjoy interviewing people, listening to their stories. I enjoy making sense of problems and putting structures in place. I especially enjoy messy brainstorming sessions, where we create scrappy sketches of design ideas, hoping that one of them will come to fruition and one day make an impact.
Some other fun facts about me:
I have lived in four countries in the past 10 years — China, Australia, Canada and the U.S.
In ninth grade, I designed my first magazine from cover to cover.
I have traveled to 14 countries worldwide and 26 provinces within China.
I love water sports, such as scuba diving, sailing and wind surfing.
I have an 11-year-old Ragdoll cat.
